Welcome to the Eastern Connecticut Amateur Radio Association Website The Eastern Connecticut Amateur Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to emergency communications, public service, promotion of Amateur Radio, and the licensing of new Amateur Radio operators. We are affiliated with the American Radio Relay League. This ham radio club came into existence in 1957. Currently the ECARA has over 60 members and is active year round. We participate in such events as the VJ Day parade, Putnam Road Race, ARRL Field Day, and so many more events. Every March we hold a ham radio flea market to raise funds for our club. At least once a year the ECARA conducts a licensing class to prepare perspective Amateur Radio operators for their Technician Class license exam. We provide new ham radio operators with plenty of help once they receive their license.
